It’s 4th of July weekend, and here in the Cedar Creek Lake area we love our fireworks. We like to shoot them off just as much as you do. But, have you ever thought about your pets? There are somethings that you can do to make sure that your pets are safe during the 4th of July weekend. Follow these tips to ensure your loved pets are safe:
— Keep your pets inside your home. Even dogs in fenced yards find ways to escape scary sounds.
— Give them a safe place to hide. Set up a comfortable room or crate in your house just for them.
— Use ambient noise to mask the noise. A radio or TV playing comforting music works well.
— Update their IDs and microchips, just in case.
— Skip the celebration and stay home with them. Sometimes your presence makes all the difference in the world.
— Take a photo with you and your pet. In case they run away and are found, you can prove your ownership.
— Keep them busy. Treat toys, like kongs, can help distract them during fireworks displays.
